Mölle surfspot

Pierwszym spotem jaki chcę opisać na łamach tej witryny jest szwedzkie Mölle. Miejscówka znajduje się w południowe-zachodniej Szwecji, w regionie Skania. Małe, malownicze miasto portowe, położone nieopodal rezerwatu przyrody i jak to z miastami portowymi bywa, mają swoją ciekawą historię … i tak też jest w tym przypadku. Pod koniec 19go wieku była to centrum rozrywki erotycznej, a pociąg z Berlina do Mölle kursował z erotycznymi turystami. Niestety już tak nie jest … tak duża jak była.

Oprócz sexturystyki Mölle może pochwalić się (jeszcze!!!) jedną z najlepszych prawych fal w Szwecji. Jest to prawy pointbreak na kamiennej rafie, który ciągnie się aż do portu. Fala raczej dla zaawansowanych wariatów, na kamienistej rafie odpala przy północnym i północno-zachodnim rozkołysie. Przy wietrze do brzegu spot tworzy falę od 50-150 metrów długości, w sprzyjających warunkach i z porządnym NW, N swell powstaje tu stroma, długa (150-250m) światowej klasy fala.

Pływacy mogą pływać wszędzie … surferzy nie mogą się przenieść gdzie indziej. Fale łamią się tam gdzie się łamią.

Mölle jest bardzo wyjątkową falą, lecz obecnie trwa o to miejsce walka z lokalnymi władzami. Władze miasta Hoganas chcą tutaj wybudować basen dla pływaków ze ścianą osłaniającą, umieszczoną w połowie spotu.
Surferzy już od 2008 roku walczą o to miejsce z miastem. Władze chciały wtedy postawić falochron, żeby nie niszczyły łodzi turystów za miliony baksów. Wtedy też do życia powołano Skånes Vågsurfare. W 2011 roku znowu ruszyły prace przy falochronie i goście zarządzający portem, usypali zewnętrzną opaskę ochronną, lokalna społeczność surfingowa próbowała to powstrzymać, lecz bez powodzenia. Okazało się, że na budowę nie było pozwolenia. Surferzy nawet wnieśli oskarżenia przeciw firmie budowlanej lecz wycofali zarzuty, bo pracownicy nie byli winni, robili tylko zleconą im pracę.

To jest wojna! Mamy nadzieję
że zostaniemy usłyszeni.

Mölle to unikatowe miejsce i jako surferzy, i surf turyści prędzej czy później tam wszyscy trafimy. Pomóżmy lokalesom w ich walce o przetrwanie fali, głośmy nasz sprzeciw. Pierwsze fale były tam łapane już ponad 35 lat temu, szkoda, żeby taki skarb zniknął przez basen dla pływaków.

Na początku kwietnia 2021 roku odbył się kolejny duży protest surferów o utrzymanie swojego ukochanego spotu. Zjechali się ludzie z całej Szwecji, a nawet z Danii, Norwegii i Finlandii.

Rädda Mölle (Ocalmy Mölle)

The first surfspot I want to describe on the pages of this website is the Swedish Mölle. The place is located in south-western Sweden, in the region of Skåne. A small, picturesque port city, located near a nature reserve and, as is the case with port cities, they have their own interesting history … and this is also the case here. At the end of the 19th century it was an erotic entertainment center, and the train from Berlin to Mölle ran with erotic tourists. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case as big as it was ;).

Except for sextourism, Mölle can boast (yet !!!) one of the best right hand rippable waves in Sweden. It is a righthand point break on a stone reef that extends all the way to the harbor. A wave rather for advanced surfers, on a rocky reef it fires at the north and north-west swells. With the onshore, the spot creates a head high wave of 50-150 meters in length, in favorable conditions and with a decent NW, N swell a steep, long (150-250m) world-class wave is created here.

Swimmers can swim anywhere … surfers can’t move. The wave breaks where the wave breaks.

Mölle is a very special wave, but there is a struggle going on with local authorities right now. The city of Hoganas wanna built a swimming pool for swimmers with a wave protection wall placed in the middle of the spot. Surfers have been fighting with the city for this place since 2008. The government wanted to build a breakwater then, so that the tourist boats for millions of bucks would not be destroyed. It was then that Skånes Vågsurfare was founded. In 2011, work on the construction started again and the company managing the port put up an outer protective band, the local surfing community tried to stop it, but without success. No authorization had been granted for the construction. The surfers even brought accusations against the construction company, but dropped the charges because the workers were not guilty, they only did the work assigned to them.

Mölle is a unique place and as surfers and surf tourists we all end up there sooner or later. Let’s help the locals in their fight to survive the wave, let’s speak out. The first waves were caught there more than 35 years ago, it is a pity that such a treasure would disappear through the swimming pool.

At the beginning of April 2021, there was another large protest by surfers to keep their beloved spot. People came from all over Sweden and even from Denmark, Norway and Finland.
